What is CGF’s contribution to defending the interests of the Vending sector?
The Confédération des Grossistes de France (CGF) is the only professional organisation representing the wholesale trade sector, bringing together 30 trade federations, including NAVSA for Vending Industry.
Every day, CGF actively works to represent and defend the interests of the sector — which includes 160,000 companies and employs one million workers — before public authorities and decision-making bodies.
Its efforts cover a wide range of strategic issues:
- industry-wide labor negotiations (CCN 3044),
- training and job attractiveness (with 65,000 new hires expected by 2025),
- urban logistics and fleet decarbonization (involving 60,000 trucks and 100,000 light commercial vehicles),
- circular economy (Extended Producer Responsibility, eco-design),
- electronic invoicing, with targeted support for businesses,
- as well as commercial negotiations and the protection of the “wholesaler regime” in the French Commercial Code.
In a constantly evolving economic and political context, marked by prolific legislation, CGF remains a key player in voicing the sector’s concerns and anticipating future transformations.
How are wholesalers an essential link in the economic chain in France, and how does this translate into the vending machine sector?
With a turnover exceeding €900 billion, wholesale trade is a fundamental pillar of the French economy. Present in all economic sectors and throughout the country, wholesalers play a key role in the day-to-day running of our society. Their mission is clear: to supply professionals.
Without them, there would be no food in restaurants or institutions, no medicines in pharmacies, no materials on construction sites… and no snacks or drinks in vending machines.
In the specific Vending sector, wholesalers ensure the availability, variety, and quality of products, while meeting increasing logistical and regulatory demands.
Their dense territorial network allows them to stay close to the needs of professionals. Moreover, their impact goes beyond economics: wholesale businesses are hands-on local players, job creators, and key partners in regional development.
Is there a meeting or moment you’re particularly looking forward to at this new edition of the Vending Show?
This year, CGF will strengthen its presence alongside NAVSA at the Vending Show event!
We look forward to engaging with Vending professionals throughout the three-day exhibition. Our team of experts will be on hand to answer all questions—whether they concern social and HR issues, transport and logistics, environmental concerns, or taxation.
This is a unique opportunity to have direct conversations with field professionals, better understand their concerns, and jointly build practical solutions to the sector’s challenges.
A highlight will also include a special session on electronic invoicing, providing valuable insights into the timeline and key points of this reform that affects all professionals.
