What role does EVA play in structuring and developing automatic distribution at European level?
EVA plays a central role in structuring and developing the coffee service and Vending Industry on a European scale. It provides a unique market study, enabling all stakeholders to better understand trends and developments in the sector, and thus make informed investment decisions.
The European Association is also behind the establishment of common technical standards – essential for guaranteeing interoperability, quality and innovation in a fragmented market – and actively promotes their widespread adoption.
EVA also facilitates the exchange of best practices between its members and reinforces synergies on a European scale, creating a dynamic and supportive network.
EVA helps to highlight innovations and new market opportunities, while ensuring that the European regulatory framework remains balanced and does not hinder the development of companies in the sector.
What common challenges will the European players in Automatic Distribution have to face in the coming years?
European players in the Automatic Distribution sector are facing a number of major challenges that require a coordinated response.
The ecological transition, with its growing demands in terms of packaging, energy consumption and waste reduction, calls for an in-depth transformation of products, machines and logistics models.
The sector must also accelerate its digitalisation – whether in terms of remote management, payment methods or user experience – while ensuring data cybersecurity.
Added to this are tensions in supply chains, rising production costs, an unpredictable geopolitical situation and a constantly evolving European legislative framework, which must be anticipated in order to avoid disruption.
Finally, recruiting and retaining talent in a changing work environment is another strategic challenge. To meet these challenges, cooperation between stakeholders at the European level is more essential than ever.
Is there a meeting or moment you are particularly looking forward to at this year’s Vending Show?
I am definitely looking forward to the informal discussions at the show. It is often during these personal exchanges that you pick up the most valuable information and emerging trends, and that new ideas are born.
I am also curious to discover the new products offered by Chinese manufacturers: will their machines be ready for the European market, both in terms of standards and consumer expectations?
Another highlight I don’t want to miss is the Vending Supplier competition, a great showcase for this essential and often overlooked profession, which perfectly illustrates the professionalism and diversity of our industry.
Finally, the Vending Show Trophies promise to highlight the most innovative initiatives and stimulate a very positive dynamic. This type of recognition encourages exhibitors to give their best and helps attract a wider audience, far beyond the industry professionals alone.
